From time to time parishes may need to make changes pastorally to further mission and ministry in their communities.
Types of pastoral change Include:
How does it work? The Area Dean and Archdeacon will help to formulate your proposals to be taken to your Deanery Mission and Pastoral Committee. Once agreed the proposals will be discussed by the Diocesan Mission and Pastoral Committee (DMPC) before a formal recommendation is made to the Bishop. This recommendation is then legalised under the Mission and Pastoral Measure 2011 and the Dioceses, Pastoral and Mission Measure 2007.
A Guide to the DMPC provides more information and a glossary of terms.
The Dioceses, Pastoral and Mission Measure has given birth to a vital new piece of legislation - The Bishop's Mission Order, whereby the Bishop can endorse and authorise a fresh expression of church.
