Statutory Parochial Fees, effective 1 March 2023, have been set by the national Church of England according to the formula approved by General Synod. The fee payable in each calendar year is increased by the lower of the year on year increase in Consumer Price Index or 5%, and rounded to the nearest pound. For the period of 1 January to 28 February 2023 a table of fees based on the increase in the Consumer Price Index was in force. You can find links to the full Parochial Fees tables below.
The Guide to the Church Of England Parochial Fees and the Frequently Asked Questions are intended to help with information about parochial fees. The 'definitions' section (in both the Guide and the FAQs) is intended to explain the meaning of the special terms used with regard to parochial fees, including those defined in legislation. Parochial fees are regulated by Ecclesiastical law and the Guide is amended when new legislation is passed.
Parishes in Blackburn Diocese are kindly asked to send in the parochial fees payable to the DBF, at least quarterly, accompanied by a completed DBF fee form (link below)
