New resources for young people to help mark Remembrance Day

For the 100th Anniversary of the end of the First World War, Blackburn Diocesan Board of Education Youth Team has produced a guide to a series of activities - ‘Remembrance Day Pick N Mix’.

The activities explore the Armistice and the Great War’s impact and are suitable for young people in groups.

The online resource pack allows parish youth leaders to create a session to mark the anniversary, providing inspiration and ideas which stretch beyond youth group walls. The pack is available at:  www.bdeducation.org.uk/youth/resources

Ben Green, Diocesan Youth Adviser, said today: "As we approach Remembrance Sunday, which falls this year on the same day as Armistice, we felt it was important to produce a series of activities that would help parish youth leaders to engage with the event in an age-appropriate way.

"This is the latest in a series of 'Pick N Mix' resources we have produced on a number of topics this year, including Easter, Exams and Starting School. Next up we will be encouraging people to engage with our Christmas Pick N Mix, which is already available on the website, on the same page as all the other online resource packs."
