The achurchnearyou.com website was switched over to its Christmas mode this morning,
You can read all about it here and there’s a tweet here.
Parishes that have not already done so are encouraged to add all Christmas services and events to achurchnearyou.com. You will not appear in search results otherwise.
In excess of half a million people are expected to access the site in the coming three weeks, so it’s a good opportunity to promote your main services and events in addition to your own website and marketing drives.
A simple approach could be to add the basic details, and simply post a link through to your relevant event webpage in the description.
Don't forget that the achurchnearyou.com website is also integral to the national CofE digital campaign #FollowTheStar in the coming weeks.
Remember too that the achurchnearyou.com website has been revamped and it is highly intuitive and easy to use.
And finally ... a reminder that Friday, December 21 is the #FollowTheStar ‘night of the stars’. If you have photos of any special star installations at your church which could be included in the media push over the weekend, post them on social media with the handle @cofelancs and hashtag #FollowTheStar for retweets.
Look out for some more Christmas content in the coming days and weeks, including the launch of the national CofE Christmas 'Advert' and a newly commissioned carol arrangement by a famous composer.
