The Bishops of The Church of England in Lancashire, together with The Dean of Blackburn, have issued a joint statement today on the terror attack near a north London mosque.
Rt Rev. Julian Henderson, Bishop of Blackburn; Rt Rev. Geoff Pearson, Bishop of Lancaster and Rt Rev. Philip North, Bishop of Burnley, (pictured together) and The Dean of Blackburn, The Very Rev. Peter Howell-Jones, said today: "We are appalled and upset by the news from London about the terrorist incident near Finsbury Park Mosque.
"Communities need to stand together at times like this. We have just celebrated the life of Jo Cox MP this past weekend with The Great Get Together initiative.
"Jo famously said in her maiden speech in Parliament 'there is more that unites than divides us' and we need to remember this in these difficult times.
"We stand united with our Muslim neighbours in Lancashire who will have been deeply upset by this latest attack."
