Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day 2025

Introduction

For 2025 Remembrance Sunday is on November 9 and Armistice Day is on Tuesday, November 11. 

On this page you will find links to news and information from The Church of England in Lancashire (Blackburn Diocese) to help you mark this year's time of Remembrance.

Parishes across the Diocese will also have special services taking place during this period that are open to all. You will be welcome to attend even if you don't normally go to church.

Remembrance videos to watch and share

Bishop Philip visited South Ribble War Memorial near Lostock Hall recently with Seren, David and Jack and their headteacher Mrs Nicola Sherry, to learn more about the sacrifice of those who fought in past wars. National Church online service 

There is a weekly service available from somewhere across the country every week on the national Church of England website. Any problems with accessing it then the service will also be available on The Church of England YouTube channel here.
