Saturday 20 January 2024, from 9am to 12.45pm
Refreshments for a 9.30am start

This event is open to anyone in the Diocese who wants to come, all are welcome.

Many Christians want to read and understand the Bible, but don't really know how it fits together, and so can easily get lost and discouraged. Looking at a 'Bible Overview' is a way of tracing the main story of the Bible, so we can see the one glorious plan of salvation in Christ, but also so we have a framework to help us understand all the other parts of the Bible. This free workshop will be suitable for those who are new to reading the Bible, as well as those who may have read it for years, but want to grow in their understanding. Please bring a bible.

Our speaker, Matt Searles, served in local church ministry in London before delivering training for the past 10 years for the South-Central Gospel Partnership, Crosslands Seminary and most recently with the Union School of Theology.

Matt and his family recently moved from Oxford to Kendal and he is a songwriter and the author of several books, including ‘God’s Story - The Bible Explained’ and ‘Tumbling Sky - Psalm Devotions for Weary Souls’.  His recordings of the Psalms are available for streaming. Matt has been a regular speaker at The Keswick Convention.

Parking:  We recommend using the car park at Wheatsheaf Way, Poulton, FY6 7TB (a 5 mins walk to the venue) where the all-day fee is £3.50. There are some car parking spaces at the venue which we will reserve for blue badge holders.  Please be aware that the well-known free car park at the nearby Booths supermarket is limited to 3 hours.

Registration: For planning purposes, it will be very helpful if you could let us know if you and/or a group are planning to attend this workshop.  Please email davidpgascoigne@gmail.com or phone 07768 303462.
