A garden party has been held at Bishop’s House near Ribchester for clergy and their families from across Lancashire.
Guests attended from parishes across the County, including Morecambe, Chorley, Blackburn, Leyland, Coppull and Preston.
The theme of the event, held in a marquee in the ground of Bishop’s House (which is home to Rt Rev Julian Henderson, the Bishop of Blackburn) was ‘Animals of the Bible/Noah’s Ark’.
Entertainment included a Christian magician (Steve Price); arts and crafts activities; lots of games; face-painting; plenty of yummy food … and some real-life Alpacas!
Rt Rev Philip North, Bishop of Burnley, attended the event alongside Bishop Julian and said afterwards: “It was a great day and so wonderful to have so many clergy and their families gathered in one place.
“It was a chance to thank our clergy for the work they do in their parishes; also their families who provide tireless support. I hope they got a sense of just how precious they are.”
