Safeguarding Sunday is coming soon - on November 16 - and this year's theme is 'Action Speaks Louder'. 

Bishop Philip encouraged ALL parishes to get involved when writing to clergy recently. 
He said: "Safeguarding Sunday is a great chance to remind people how building safe Christian communities is one of the ways our churches anticipate the life of heaven.

"It is also a good opportunity to thank our Parish Safeguarding Officers for the work they do and to raise their profile."

Safeguarding Sunday takes place every year and is run by Thirtyone:eight, the UK's leading independent Christian safeguarding charity. It gives us a great chance to show how seriously we take safeguarding in our churches. The event is supported by a huge range of online resources. Visit this page and register your church if you haven't already. 

Once registered, you will have access to the free resources to help make your event a success, including sermon ideas, children's talks, inter-generational services, Bible studies, videos, victim-survivor support and much more!

There is also 'ready-to-go' social media content you can use on your parish social media channels. 

If marking Safeguarding Sunday on November 16 itself isn't possible for your church for any reason, why not do it on a Sunday nearby?

Meanwhile, we will mark the event on the Diocesan social media channels and parishes are encouraged to repost that content too.
