Rev Professor Jenn Strawbridge, Associate Professor in New Testament Studies at Oxford University, has been appointed Canon Theologian at Blackurn Cathedral.
Rt Rev. Julian Henderson, Bishop of Blackburn, said today: "It is with great delight that I am able to announce the Rev. Professor Jenn Strawbridge (pictured) as Canon Theologian at Blackburn Cathedral.
"Jenn delivered three excellent Bible readings at our Diocesan conference 'The Mystery of Faith' last November which prompted a number in the Diocese to wonder whether she could be approached to be a Canon Theologian at our Cathedral.
"She has accepted my offer and will be installed as a Canon in the Cathedral and deliver an inaugural lecture on January 18, 2020.
"Jenn currently is Associate Professor in New Testament Studies at Oxford University based at Mansfield College and continues in that important role.
"The Diocese is very grateful that she is willing to hold this role for us and deliver an annual lecture in the Cathedral."
