Churches have been adopting and adapting the child-friendly ‘Messy Church’ initiative event for years … but for one Lancashire church the Saturday sessions are proving a hit with the adults as well!
For the recent Messy Church afternoon held in The Barn at All Hallows church on All Hallows Road in Bispham, Blackpool, some 40 children were almost outnumbered by more than thirty adults!
It’s a regular, fun two-hour session where guests explore the Bible through crafts, games, quizzes, baking, music and singing! And what’s really good news for families is that it's completely free!
All Hallows Messy Church continues to grow: it meets 8-10 times a year in the Barn, and dates are well advertised, usually on a Saturday from 3 to 5pm although this occasionally can change depending on the activity. The next get-together is due on Saturday February 24, more details on www.bahchurch.com
All family members are invited: babies, toddlers, primary school children, teenagers, parents and grandparents.
The church also provides a toddler and café area and activities of Crafts, Cooking, Games, Food, Fellowship, Worship and Fun.
