St Matts Leeds, 275 Burley Road, LS4 2EL

To be held on Saturday 4 November, 10am to 4pm

This day conference is jointly hosted by AMEN (Anglican Minority Ethnic Network) and USPG. Together, we will be asking what 'Living Well' looks like for Christians. How to live well within oneself (focusing on wellbeing and addressing internalised racism), how to live well within the Church, and how to live well within our communities and wider society. As we navigate these questions, we will see how drawing from Jesus, the living well, is the key.

The conference will draw upon the Church of England's Living Ministry's report from the study exploring the wellbeing experiences of Global Majority Heritage (GMH) clergy led by Selina Stone.

The speakers for the event are:

  • Rev Dr Evie Vernon, a Jamaican Educator who has worked in the Caribbean and the UK, presently an Honorary Assistant Curate, St Mildred’s Croydon, Trustee of Inclusive Church, and Former Theological Advisor to USPG.
  • Canon Sanjee Perera - Cognitive Psychologist and Ecclesiologist, Associate at Virginia Theological Seminary, and formerly Archbishops' Advisor on Minority Ethnic Affairs, Church of England.
  • Rev Canon Dr Peniel Rajkumar, Theologian and Director of Global Mission at USPG.

Joining this joint AMEN and USPG conference will also be Bishop of Kirkstall, Arun Arora and Bishop of Huddersfield, Smitha Prasadam.
