Did you know there is a special fund our parishes can make applications to for children and young people who are without adequate financial means to attend Christian residential experiences?
‘The Pendleton Fund’ is a residential endowment fund set up on the proceeds of the former Pendleton Youth Centre.
The fund has limited money available each year as only the interest on the investment can be spent and therefore it may be the case the grants cannot be awarded where the limits have been reached.
Please keep this in mind when making applications to avoid disappointment if a bid is not successful.
The fund will only ever offer a proportion of the costs and is applied for via direct letter or email to Stephen Whittaker, Director of Education for Blackburn Diocese.
The letter should be from the incumbent of the parish where the individual worships, setting out the case for support and the benefit of the visit and should be accompanied by a letter from either the parent of the young person or the young person themselves stating why they would like to attend and what they hope to get out of it.
Decisions are notified to the incumbent of the parish.
Send emails to stephen.whittaker@blackburn.anglican.org or write to Stephen at the Diocesan Offices, Walker Business Park, Blackburn, BB1 2QE.
